Navigant Research has once again named Enbala as a leading provider of distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS) for distributed energy resources (DERs) and grid management. Navigant announced the news in a January 28 press release. Enbala was chosen as one of the top two DERMS market players as part of a new Leaderboard Report that examines the strategy and execution of 16 global DERMS providers.
The report, Navigant Research Leaderboard: DERMS Vendors, rates the 16 leading vendors offering DERMS for DER and grid management solutions based on 12 criteria:
- Go-to-market strategy
- Product integration strategy
- Geographic reach
- Sales, marketing and distribution
- Product performance
- Product quality and reliability
- Product portfolio and ecosystem
- Staying power
“Navigant is very thorough in its analysis of the market,” said Enbala CEO and President Arthur “Bud” Vos. “Its analysts study the global DERMS market in-depth and from every conceivable angle, and we couldn’t be more pleased to be at the top of their 2020 Leaderboard. Last year there were three leaders; this year there are two. Based on our innovation pipeline and the major product releases that are planned, I’m convinced that our ranking will be even higher in 2021.”
The 2020 DERMS leaderboard report notes that DERs have traditionally been isolated but that this paradigm is changing as adoption drivers grow and distribution becomes more evenly allocated. Navigant Research forecasts that installed DER capacity, including distributed generation, energy storage, microgrids, EVs, and demand response (DR), will increase significantly over the next decade.
“Siemens and Enbala offer comprehensive solutions that can be tailored to operate in a wide variety of regulatory environments and by different actors in the power market such as market operators, system operators, energy suppliers, or aggregators,” noted Roberto Rodriguez Labastida, in the aforementioned Navigant Research press release. Labastida is a senior research analyst at Navigant Research. “These companies have differentiated themselves from the competition through exceptional product performance, strong vendor partnerships, and a sustainable business model,” he said.
An executive summary of the report is available for free download on the Navigant Research website.
